DJ Walterwall aka Mike Wall first acquired a taste for dance-music, back in the rave-days of 1990. Introduced by his older brother via mix tapes, he snuck out to his first party at the tender age of just 14.
His misspent youth was dedicated to a never-ending search for the ultimate parties along the UK’s south-coast, and where better to experience all that was cutting-edge in fresh beats, than Sterns Nightclub (Worthing). After watching some of the biggest names around such as Carl Cox, Grooverider, LTJ Bukem, Sasha and John Digweed spin tunes every week his fascination became obsession! Purchasing decks immediately - he gained his first residency in the Sterns Room 2 within a year.
In 1995, Mike ‘Walterwall’ Wall moved from his Brighton-base to the furthest possible source of clubbing, Australia. Acquiring instant regular slots at incredible venues like The Underground and Roof-Top club, this culminated in an exclusive spot with residency on the infamous Sydney Harbour Love Boat parties.
Skipping continents like they were going out of fashion, Walter headed to Canada’s Vancouver city. In the following three years, he helped to manage Hush Records as well as hold residencies at Sonar, Purple Onion, DV8 and had a guest DJ set at Celebrities (with none-other than Derrick Carter)! An event lining-up next to John Kelly saw Walterwall smashing it out to over 4000 punters at the renowned Frostee outdoor festival while with fame not extinguishing his passion he continued to through his own parties and free after hours events all over Vancouver city.
Next a triple header of summers spent in the Balearic's from 2000-2003, witnessed Mike resident at Boomerangs -Mallorca playing with the infamous Brandon Block & Alex P whilst spending his winters in Andorra Snowboarding and playing the local club circuit before returning to Brighton.
DJ appearances followed at the Beach Club (Now Coalition), Po Na Na, the Concorde 2, a residency Shoreham’s Angel Bar and an appearance at the Launch of SMUT along side Bodyrox front man Nick Bridges before he was head hunted to become resident for Ministry of Sound Red Sea and Hed Kandi Egypt!
